There are four gifts every mom really needs . . .
1. A Break: To Rest – Mark 1:35
35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
2. Forgiveness: For Yourself – 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
3. Solid Friends: Surround Yourself with Love – Ruth 1:16
16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
4. Dream Beyond: God’s Purpose for You – Proverbs 19:21
"Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails"
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this sanctuary of time . . .
I will slow down and pray
I will set boundaries and limits on my commitments and work
I will make certain that those whom I love remain first in my life
I will not allow pressures that bear down on our lives keep us apart
I will believe what You have placed inside me
I will look loved ones in the eyes and tell them how much I love them
I will make Christ the Heart of Our Home
I will remember that I was created by You to make a difference in people’s lives
I will stay connected with friends and be thankful for them
I will give myself permission:
To take a break
Forgive myself
Surround myself with loving Friends
Dream beyond and your purpose for my life
In Your Holy Name,
Amen
